Currently a Visiting Professor at McGill University, he has also served as a visiting faculty at Kathmandu University and as a scientist at Nepal Academy of Science and Technology. His work spans academic research and social advocacy, focusing on youth, human rights, sustainable development, and public health. Dr. Upadhyaya holds leadership roles in several organizations, including the Nepali Janasampark Samiti and the School of Democracy, Canada.
